BAPEJU SMILE FOUNDATION (BASMILE), a beacon of hope and catalyst for positive change in communities across Cameroon. Founded in 2017, BASMILE is a non-governmental organization dedicated to uplifting individuals and communities for a better life. At BASMILE, we believe in the transformative power of collective action, sustainable development, and the inherent potential within every individual to contribute to the betterment of society.
OUR VISION
BASMILE is committed to supporting underprivileged groups and local communities within Cameroon. Through community-centered approaches, we initiate and realize projects aimed at improving health, facilitating wealth creation, promoting education, and fostering gender equality. Our mission is driven by the desire to empower individuals to take control of their lives and build a sustainable future for themselves and generations to come.

OUR PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES
BASMILE focuses on four pillars to achieve our mission:
- Health Program: We promote positive health-seeking behaviors and ensure access to essential needs for vulnerable groups, including pregnant and nursing mothers, infants, orphans, and vulnerable children.
- Education: We support communities in rekindling interest in learning by providing coaching, educational materials, and assistance to meritorious pupils and students for scholarships/sponsorship.
- Gender and Capacity Building: We strengthen the capacities of underprivileged groups, civil society organizations (CSOs), councils, and other stakeholders to ensure effective participation in community development and improve livelihoods.
- Wealth Creation: We empower households to improve their incomes through micro-projects, sustainable agriculture, and micro-credit operations, fostering self-reliance within communities.
Our Geographical Reach
BASMILE operates across all ten regions of Cameroon, starting with the South West and North West Regions. We are committed to serving the people of Cameroon for as long as our assistance is needed, with a focus on helping underprivileged individuals, particularly women, youth, and marginalized communities.
